L5R Cards | Legend Of The Five Rings Cards
When it comes to the Legend of the Five Rings, you have your choice of playing the RPG version, the trading card version or both of them. As far as the Legend of the Five Rings cards go, the L5R CCG is played with two or more players. However, in tournament play there is only two players at any given time.
Each player starts of with an L5R deck which is composed of 40 cards; in the old version one only started off with 30 L5R cards in their deck. It is very similar to the game of Magic, but playing the Legends of the Five Rings is more of a passive win type play, whereas Magic is more of a destroy your opponent in order to win.

Because of the ever evolving storyline of Rokugan, the fictional location for which the game is played, there is almost a weekly update to the game. The game itself is actually controlled by the players and their actions during sanctioned tournaments.
