A 2004 spin-off of the ever popular Yu-Gi-Oh animated series led to a whole new level in Duel Monsters known as Yu-Gi-Oh GX. It is the sequel to the first and original Yu-Gi-Oh animated series. In this version, rather then Yugi Motuo, the series revolves around Jaden Yuki and his Duel Academy cronies. Once again, the series is based on the Duel Monsters game which was reinvented by Maximillion Pegasus. It features spell and trap cards as well as many different monsters of varying levels. In time, it is based 10 years in the future after which Yugi Motuo gives Jaden the Winged Kuriboh card.
