Naruto is a very popular animated cartoon on the television, but it is also a very fun and exciting trading card game as well. Most of all though, Naruto is a collectible trading card game with many fans of the show all over the world simply collecting the cards in hopes of having one of every single card at some point in time.
The Naruto trading cards were first introduced in Japan back in February of 2003 and just like the animated cartoon, they quickly became a big hit. However, it was not until April of 2006 that the Naruto trading cards would make their way to the North American continent when the folks at Bandai released them for the very first time.
In play, the Naruto trading card game is played usually with 2 players. Each player will start with 50 cards in their deck and using a specialized game mat as well as a turn marker, the game can begin. However, one of the most important pieces for playing the Naruto trading cards game is the Ninja Blade Coin which is flipped and used to make decisions throughout the game. In order to win, one player has to earn ten battle rewards which are earned through battles. They can also win if they are able to get their opponent to use up every card in their deck first. Either way, there can only be one winner in the Naruto trading cards game.
The cards themselves are released in sets which are aptly named series. Each set consists of 50 cards in a pre-constructed box set. They each have their own starter deck, turn counter and game mat as well as the stainless steel Ninja Blade Coin. One can also get additional cards which are not found in the starter decks through booster packs. Each one of these booster packs contains 10 additional cards in the series; but some may be doubles of the ones which you may already possess. Furthermore, roughly one out of every 6 booster packs also contain a super rare card which comes complete with some special abilities. There are also collector tins available which contain several booster packs in every single tin.
By the end of 2006, more then 17 series of the Naruto trading cards game had been released. This equates to more then 417 unique cards that have been made available to the world. Unfortunately, these are only the ones released in Japan as in North America, only 10 of those series have so far been released. This has led many collectors and enthusiasts to turn to the internet in order to purchase directly from Japan in order to complete their collections.
Whether you are choosing the Naruto trading cards as an exciting new collectible hobby or even if you are planning on playing the game, you will find many hours of enjoyable fun found inside each and every single pack. Start collecting now and use your doubles for actually playing the game and you will be able to have twice the fun out of every pack.
