Yugioh Cards

Yugioh Trading Cards

Perhaps one of the most popular trading card games in existence today is that of Yu-Gi-Oh! Yu-Gi-Oh can easily be compared to the popularity of the Dungeons and Dragons game that the youth’s parents and grandparents played as a child. The Yu-Gi-Oh trading card game is a spawn off from the ever popular animated cartoon which shares the same name. In the animated cartoons, they are always playing the game Duel Monsters which has led to the development of the trading card game and its popularity.

It is however important to point out that the Yu-Gi-Oh trading card game and the animated counterpart are only closely related as there are cards, techniques and rules used in the game which are not available on the show and vice versa.

In the show, Yugi Mutou is a high school student who is given a piece of an ancient Egyptian artifact known as the Millennium Puzzle. Through this puzzle piece, a 3,000 year old Pharaoh is able to communicate as well as take possession of his body. In the Ancient Egyptian times, the Duel Monsters game was not based on cards, but on real monsters and with real stakes. As the animated cartoon advances through time, more and more of this becomes prevalent.

There are many different Yu-Gi-Oh trading card game sets to choose from and they are all based on the various different versions of the animated cartoon. The original was replaced by the Yu-Gi-Oh GX set which is based 10 years after Yugi Mutou’s experiences. From there, the sets move on the Yu-Gi-Oh 5D which is set even further in the future. None the less though, with each new succeeding set, more and more interesting and completely unique monsters are added to the game.

Whether you want to play like Set Keiba or like Yugi Mutou, there is a deck out there which is perfect for every player and their particular playing style. As with any trading card based battle game, there is a lot of fun to be had when choosing to play Yu-Gi-Oh trading Cards and even more intellectual stimulation as you make the games more and more advanced.

Most importantly though, make sure you have fun. From short matches to ones which could literally last for hours on end, there is so much to do when you choose to play with the Yu-Gi-Oh trading cards. You don’t have to be a kid either to play the game. Everyone knows that when your kid is watching the animated cartoon on the television, you are quietly paying attention to it yourself hoping that no one will notice. Kids of all ages, yong and old will simply love playing the Yu-Gi-Oh trading card game.
